It was really hard creating my lesson plan because I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do  mine over. But once I figured that out, it was pretty easy. I enjoyed it because it gave me some insight on what I will be doing in the future when I actually become a teacher.

Lesson plans are important because they help the teacher completely prepare for the lesson create a guideline for themselves to follow throughout the day. Creating a lesson plan takes a lot of thinking and analyzing to figure out which activities will best fit your students. Some teachers may also do some research to find interesting and fun activities that other teachers use for their lesson plans. It is important to follow lesson plans because, without them, lessons may start to get off track from what the students are supposed to be learning, or the teacher could be totally unprepared for his or her lesson.

Some educational websites I use are quizlet, blackboard, and the Pulaski Tech portal. quizlet provides me with flashcards, games, and other study tools that I use in order to help me prepare for a lot of quizzes and test. I can usually find a set of flash cards on quizlet over any subject I need. I first learned about quizlet when I was in high school and have been using it ever since. I use the Pulaski Tech portal to check my grades, schedule my classes, and make advising appointments.The portal also provides me with links to other important educational websites, such as blackboard. i use blackboard to submit assignments to my teachers in almost all of my classes. I also take a lot of quizzes on blackboard. One great thing about blackboard is that most of my instructors post a lot of important information on blackboard, including class reminders, study guides, syllabus, and other important handouts. This is always helpful because if I ever loose or forget anything important, I can just look on blackboard for anything I need. The educational websites I use are very important to me because, honestly, I could not make it through school without them.

I liked creating my lesson plan for education technology because it gave me a chance to see what creating a lesson plan will be like when I actually become a teacher. I disliked creating the lesson plan because, while I would like to teach second grade, I am not sure of exactly what second grade students learn, so it was very difficult for me to create realistic objectives for my lesson plan. I also have never learned anything about lesson plans or how to do them, so creating this one was very new and a little confusing for me.

YouTube is a very popular site that can be used for a variety of purposes. I usually use YouTube to look up songs I like and want to listen to, or to look up how-to videos when I need help with things like fixing my car or making a Halloween costume. YouTube is a great way to learn and share your ideas for FREE! However, there are also some drawbacks to YouTube. For instance, since anyone and everyone is allowed to pot videos to the site, there are tons and tons of videos over any topic you look up, which can make it very difficult to find the exact video you are searching for. YouTube videos can also be a little inappropriate at times, which can cause problems when trying to find videos to share with children. Although YouTube has a few bad qualities, I think its pros still outweigh its cons, and I would love to have the opportunity to use it in my classroom.

Over the years, technology has become a huge part of most people’s lives. I enjoy technology because it allows me to keep up with people without having to really put forth any effort. For instance, if I want to still keep in touch with some of the people I graduated with or with really distant family, I can just become friends with them on Facebook or follow them on Instagram. I can see things that they are doing or accomplishing without having to actually have a conversation with them. I also like technology because it is a good form of entertainment. All of the different videos on Facebook and Instagram can be really fun to watch. There are also lots of technological games to play that are really fun. I dislike technology because it keeps people from interacting face to face with each other as much as they would if there weren’t so much technology. People text all day and tell each other how their day is going and then when they actually see each other in person they have nothing to talk about because they have already been texting all day. Also, when people are spending time with each other, they can get so glued to social media or a game on their phone that they don’t even pay attention to the other people in the room with them. Technology can sometimes make quality time with others a lot less fun.

My favorite memory in high school was being on the elementary yearbook staff my last two years of high school.  I learned how to create a yearbook, which was really cool because when we were finished with it it was like a work of art and it was so good to see that all of our hard work payed off. One of my closest friends was also on the yearbook staff with me, which made it that much more fun. Not only did I get more time to bond with her, but I also formed some great friendships with the other girls on the yearbook staff, as well as with my yearbook teacher, who became sort of like a mentor to me and someone who I could confide in. She always gave great advice and I still talk to her sometimes now. The yearbook class was also really cool because I got the experience to interact with the elementary kids almost every day, which I absolutely loved. Being on the yearbook staff was like no other experience I had ever had in school and that is why I will always remember it.
